Mike Dean to retire at the end of the season
I’ll drink to that.
Sky has even made a clip referring to his greatest moments, not sure about that but it’s a short clip and you can see why he might have had an issue with West Ham the dirty soap dodging scouser.

Graham Poll is a QPR fan, I have had the unfortunate pleasure of being in his company on a few occasions.

Re: Mike Dean to retire at the end of the season
As people have mentioned the Graham Poll (Chelsea fan btw) free kick , how did he / they get away with it , whilst James was lining up the wall etc , Poll said in a quite voice “do you want to take a quick free kick .?” Hasselbaink ,” yes please “ , Bosch , we’re out of the FA cup ,! Fucking corrupt cunts !

Never understood why anyone would want to be a ref. At every level it’s a cunt of a job.

Re: Mike Dean to retire at the end of the season
There is something self-fulfilling about why so many referees end up being c*nts. Of all those starting out with the odd desire to qualify as a ref, the vast majority (i.e., those with any self-awareness) will give it up as a bad job after receiving ridiculous levels of abuse officiating at junior games. Only the thick skinned sociopaths survive their way to the top.

The coming of gary
I stand corrected Howard Webb did referee a World Cup Final and naused it up.
Antony Taylor may well have been in charge of two bob final I missed that.
My fact remains English refs aren’t well respected by the rest of Europe for good reason and as far as I’m concerned Mike Dean is an absolute cunt.Good riddance.
If you want to argue the toss otherwise do so with someone else busy bollocks.

That was obviously an extreme example, he wouldn't ref at Carlisle every day. He'd ref no more than twice a week, I'd imagine, so it was hardly sleep deprivation.

His WC was embarrassing though, as have been many of his performances.

That really irritated me. Just before in the same interview he was moaning about us being mean on social media after the Soucek sending off, and he went on to say that he apologised to Soucek for getting it so badly wrong.

How can he then say "I'd rather be sent to the screen and make the right decision than make the wrong decision and drive home and be battered in the press." without seeing what a cunt that makes hi m look?

I couldn't believe one part of that article
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In those early years, refereeing was not a full-time job and Dean combined his passion with working at a chicken factory.

"I was up at half four and in work for 5am," Dean said.

"I finished my shift at 2pm and then I'd get in the car, maybe drive to Carlisle to referee, then get home for 3am and then be back up at 5am for work.

"It was tough but I wouldn't change it. I've just loved football from forever."
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
So Dean was able to get by on just 1 and half hours sleep every night?
What a load of bollocks

Re: Mike Dean to retire at the end of the season
Dean on...
VAR: "When it first came in I used to hate it. I had a run-in with the bosses about it. It wasn't for me. I had refereed by then for 19 years without someone in my ear telling me what to do.

"I have found in the past two or three years it has helped me 100%. I'd rather be sent to the screen and make the right decision than make the wrong decision and drive home and be battered in the press."

Apart from when you watched Soucek on the screen and still made the wrong decision.
Prick.

Re: Mike Dean to retire at the end of the season
It's really interesting with all the abuse and death threats on social media, and it being seen as an English disease.

It seems to be a large percentage of people not from England, like in the case with Mike Dean.

I wonder what collyrob thinks about it, he's normally got a lot to say.

Was reading the bbc article above
Seems he was scared of Wenger and his favourite players to ref were Henry, Bergkamp & Vieira.
ARSENAL ARE GOING TO MISS HIM

Mentions the Soucek incident but not that his decision was utterly abysmal

Good riddance to the Everybody Look at Me Cunt.

When it comes to anti West Ham refs he still doesn't beat Mike Riley though.

Re: Mike Dean to retire at the end of the season
Mike Dean officiated based on players reactions to an incident.
He sent off Feghouli after he was fouled by Phil Jones ('the ugly face of football').
Dean actually turned his back after the challenge as he saw nothing wrong with it but then Jones started screaming.
Dean approached the prone Jones, ManUtd players surrounded Dean & he sent off Feghouli.
The ugly face of football.

Re: Mike Dean to retire at the end of the season
Michael Oliver made a disgracefully bad decision sending off Matt Hummels in a UCL game v Ajax earlier this year.
Hummels could be seen calming his team-mates down as he knew he didn't do anything wrong & he 'knew' that VAR would over-turn the red card.
The review showed that if any foul was committed it was done by the Ajax player who planted his foot on Hummels leg that was lying on the ground.
The BT Sport analysts on 'Eurogoals' announced that VAR would over-turn the red card.
They didn't take into account that the VAR official was also an EPL ref.
Michael Oliver wasn't even asked to review the incident & the red card stood.
An incredibly bad non-intervention by VAR.
